meet ALYSSIAH SHANNON

Biography

Alyssiah is currently pivoting from working behind the chair in the salon to studying at the University of New Mexico to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is also majoring in business management. Her goal is to merge her degree with her experience as a hairstylist for over 10 years to support women with their mental health.

Alyssiah has gained experience in technical communications by engaging in three major projects. Her first accomplishment was creating a specific audience driven video. The video was about educating her audience on how to blow dry a simple hairstyle that sets the foundation for personal hair care maintenance at home.

Additionally, She gained skills in how to write formal documents and letters to a company or organization for professional circumstances. Alyssiah understands that tone and sensitively can influence a positive response from a client/company.

Lastly, technical communications has benefited Alyssiah by giving her experience in delivering proposals and preparing for public speaking engagements.

When she is not studying in school, she loves listening to music, taking dance classes at her local gym. She also enjoys spending time with her loved ones.
